Music Panel Podcast: Doing Good, Only Better

When done right, artist-cause collaborations can raise vital funds, energy and awareness for an issue or non-profit organization, and can help to bring new audiences to musicians, while deepening the relationships artists have with existing fans. In March, Air Traffic Control Executive Director Erin Potts moderated the panel Doing Good, Only Better, which explored effective strategies for musicians (and their managers) looking to raise money, awareness or engagement for a meaningful cause. Other speakers on the panel were Andy Bernstein, Executive Director of HeadCount Inc, Arcade Fire's Marika Anthony-Shaw, and Mike Martinovich of Flatiron Borman Management.

RIP Adam Yauch
Upon the passing of Adam Yauch, we offer highlights of the Beastie Boys SXSW Music Conference interview from 2006. They were in town to premiere Yauch's Awesome, I Fuckin' Shot That! documentary, participate in this audience-question based session, and play a surprise show. Like many, we've been thinking about MCA, the Beasties and our collective misspent youth. Check out this clip with the important yet unassuming Adam Yauch. Rest in peace.
